Hiring a Licensed Acupuncturist

 

We are seeking a motivated Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) in the State of California to join our team of holistic health practitioners and massage therapists at our office in Hillcrest. Our ideal candidate will be positive, have a strong sense of integrity, and love helping people learn how to heal themselves. This candidate should love working in a peaceful, healing environment, and be excited to provide our patients with the best care possible!

It is important for us to provide our employees with a good work-life balance, in order to bring their best selves to each and every treatment. The position will start at 3 shifts per week with potential for grow. Patients are all scheduled, no walk-ins. All practitioners and staff are required to wear face masks/coverings while working.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of acupuncture experience preferred as well as fire cupping.

  • Malpractice insurance required.

  • Computer skills with the ability to learn and effectively use the computerized clinical information and documentation systems.

  • Ability to educate patients on healthy lifestyle changes, including nutrition, herbal therapies, stress management, and home pain management therapies.

  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team

  • Support the vision, mission and goals of the organization.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Meet with patient and assess patient’s condition: obtain information about their complaints, symptoms, medical history, diet, lifestyle and psychological health.

  • Maintain safe and clean treatment environment and adhere to Clean Needle Technique protocols; comply with procedures, rules, regulations and laws relating to acupuncture.

  • Make diagnosis and determine treatment strategies.

  • Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for treatment.

  • Obtain informed consent prior to administering therapy.

  • Administer acupuncture treatment using sterile, single use needles at specified locations to stimulate certain points on or near the surface of the body by the insertion of needles to prevent or modify the perception of pain or to normalize physiological functions.

  • Evaluate the effects of treatments by observing, noting and evaluating patients’ progress; modify treatments as needed.

  • Document all treatments and patient’s response to therapy in patient’s chart.

  • Check patients out, collect payment and schedule their next appointment.
